About This Program

The Beginning

In July 2025, G3Women partnered with Shamrock Innovation to launch Women Who Automate—a 4-week intensive Python bootcamp in Kano, Nigeria. Our mission was clear: bridge the gender gap in technology by equipping 20 women with the skills to thrive in the world of data science and automation. What unfolded over those four weeks was more than a training program. It was a movement.

The Team Behind the Magic

Under the supervision of Ibrahim Salawdeen and Salima Rabiu, our students received world-class instruction from Shamrock Innovation's expert trainers—Ahmed Abdul and Muhammad Fegu. Meeting three times a week, the program created an intensive yet nurturing environment where learning Python didn't just happen; it flourished.

The Challenges We Faced

No journey worth taking is without obstacles. We encountered students who arrived without laptops—a barrier that could have ended their tech dreams before they began. But at G3Women, we don't see barriers; we see problems to solve. We found solutions, secured resources, and ensured that lack of equipment would never stand between a woman and her potential. Among our participants was a nursing mother who became the embodiment of our mission. Balancing the demands of motherhood with the rigors of an intensive tech bootcamp, she showed up, absorbed Python, built projects, and proved that ambition doesn't pause for life's responsibilities. Her presence reminded us daily: when women are given opportunity and support, they don't just participate—they excel.

The Learning Journey

Our curriculum went deep: Python programming, data science fundamentals, data cleaning, preprocessing, and visualization using industry-standard tools like Matplotlib and Seaborn. But the real transformation happened when theory met practice. Students worked in collaborative teams on real-world data science projects. One team analyzed customer churn patterns, diving into classification and predictive modeling. Another explored teen phone addiction, uncovering behavioral insights through data analysis. These weren't textbook exercises—they were genuine problems requiring genuine solutions.

In Their Own Words

"Taking part in this bootcamp has been a great privilege, especially for someone with little knowledge about Python or data science. The churn project helped my teammates and I gain greater understanding. Two heads are better than one—the project brought us closer, boosted our confidence, and we had fun while learning."

Zara

"At first, I thought Python would be overwhelming, but with every session, things started to click. From learning to handle missing values to exploring relationships in data, every step boosted my confidence. I'm truly proud of how far I've come in such a short time."

Comfort Adams

Today, Comfort hasn't just graduated—she's advancing in Data Science, building a portfolio that showcases her remarkable transformation.

"The way we were devoted and everybody was brainstorming was an unforgettable moment. It was tough but hilarious—the heart palpitations over small errors! If I had the chance to travel back in time, I would want that moment to repeat more and more. This bootcamp encouraged me, showed me how Python is awesome and a change maker."

Fatima

The Results

Of 20 women who started, 15 graduated with certificates from G3Women and Shamrock Innovation. But numbers tell only part of the story. The real measure of success lives in Zara's newfound data science skills, in Comfort's decision to pursue advanced studies, in Fatima's realization that she could be a change maker. It's in every woman who walked in uncertain and walked out empowered, equipped not just with Python skills but with proof that she belongs in tech.

What We Learned

Women Who Automate taught us what we already believed: when you create space for women in technology, provide quality training, tackle barriers head-on, and build genuine community—transformation is inevitable. These 15 graduates aren't just Python developers. They're pioneers. Trailblazers. Living proof that the future of tech is diverse, inclusive, and unstoppable. And we're just getting started.
